and Respect for Themselves and Their Community -
Program Vision [top]
Reduce recidivism by providing meaningful
community placements and activities to help youth and adults in
conflict with the law build skills and respect for themselves and their
community.
Description of Services [top]
- Funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth
Services and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
- Serves youth and adults ordered by the court to
perform community or personal service for any loss, damage or injury
caused by their actions as part of a stand alone sentence or probation
order.
- Clients are referred by the youth or adult
probation offices and the service is free.
- Clients are assigned to complete hours on
behalf of community organizations in Peterborough City and County such
as service clubs, churches, schools, sports leagues, charitable
organizations and municipal offices helping with community events,
construction, cooking, knitting, woodworking, computer work etc.

- Assessment of clients for individualized
placements, activities and projects befitting their maturity level,
charge, skills, abilities, interests etc.
- Maintenance and development of community
placements, activities and projects for clients via calls and visits to
current and potential placements and distribution of a quarterly
newsletter.
- Case management, support and service
development for clients in collaboration with probation and community
partners.

Cavan, Lakefield, Keene, Douro, Warsaw, Bridgenorth, Ennismore, Curve
Lake and Hiawatha Reserves.
